"Art in Absolutely Everything"

As we come so close to Christmas there is one thing on everyone's mind.  Finding the perfect gift for all of those special people in our lives.  At Lark I hope to have that something special for those people.  I want people to walk in and see things that create an emotion... The pieces in the store suit different tastes and styles.  That is what the store was based on. Unique, artistic expression. 

I was reading an email I received from one of my vendors today and felt like they were writing about art in the manner in which I feel it everyday.  That art is in everything, and it is these things that evoke passion and emotion throughout our lives.  The following is what they wrote, and I would like to share it with you.

"...But when creativity and expression become valuable parts of your reality, the benefit isn't just that you connect more deeply with paintings or poetry or music. It's that you realize there's an art to absolutely everything.

The difference between people simply 'going through the motions', and those who make what they do a form of art-be it masterminding financial models or roasting the perfect coffee bean- is the ability to see creativity's COUNTLESS faces, and look at every project, hobby, or job, great and small, as subject to the same creative process. It requires trusting the spark of an idea,  accepting the challenges and creative contractions that accompany any productivity, and understanding that while you may have smarts and talent and everything else, refinement takes a lot of just one thing: time. Going through this process gracefully can be considered the artistry of life (after all, we're always creating something). Doing so gratefully may be the secret to enjoying it..."


So this holiday season there is one thing I wish for everyone.  To enjoy it.  Lark has been so lucky to have the support of our community in it's opening.  These past two months have been remarkable.  I have so enjoyed sharing my creative process, which is my store, with all of you.  I look forward to the many more months to come and perfecting this art with time.

Lark is Open

Welcome to Salisbury's newest Jewelry and Giftware Boutique.  Lark was created on the concept that everything you give or wear is art.  Lark works with young artists as well as established companies to bring hand made, quality goods to the customer, and is so happy to be showing these artists and the different mediums they use to create their work.  Lark has something for everyone.  There is a wide range of collections that will meet the need of any woman's style in both jewelry and giftware.

Now let me introduce myself.  I, Ashlyn Nolte, am the owner of Lark.  I have grown up with a passion in design and all things beautiful.  My mother is an interior designer, so I guess you can say it is in my blood.  I love to mix and match different things to create wonderful stories of pattern and color, as well as texture.  I appreciate the work that goes into creating beautiful things and have always wanted to share that with other people.  My passion is focused in jewelry.  I love the way jewelry can transform a person.  The same piece can be worn by different people and take on a whole new style and life.  It can make you feel beautiful, make you happy, or even take you back to a fond memory.  I like to know where a piece has come from and it is in Lark that I can share this passion with other people.  I have met and formed relationships with all of my designers and can tell you about every piece.  For me it is like knowing about the artist who painted the art on your wall.

So now that you know about me and my store, I would love for you to stop in.  If you are looking for a special piece for that perfect Holiday outfit, or a hostess gift for dinner this weekend, then I have something unique and wonderful for you.  I am here Monday thru Friday 10 am to 6 pm and Saturday 10 am to 4pm.  If these times don't work for you and you would like to set up an appointment to see the store just call and I will be happy to do so.
